Oct. 3: - Bob has returned from the Mildura Country Music Festival where he performed 23 shows with DONNA BOYD (pictured below onstage at Henderson Park, Mildura). On Oct 1st, Bob also co-hosted Saturday Night Country as John Nutting broadcast his 4-hour show from the ABC Sunraysia Studios in Mildura. Special guests included winners of the Australian Independent Country Music Awards. Pictured right, Bob and Johnno at 2.05 am!!

Session Work: Aug/Sept. - Bob has recently completed several sessions for forthcoming releases by various artists. COL ELLIOTT and ALLAN CASWELL have released a single ALL GAVE SOME (SOME GAVE ALL) featuring Bob on harmonica, mandolin and electric guitar, to be included on Col's next album. Bob has also contributed acoustic guitar and harmonica to Allan's forthcoming album. You can hear Bob playing harmonica on 2 tracks from the WINDOW DOWN album by ALEX WATT (released in Nov.) and on Straight To The Heart of Love from the album KICK IT by CRAIG GILES (out now).

Press Release: This Train Terminates at Redfern is a contemporary dance, movement, song, speak adaptation of Tennessee Williams' seminal play A Streetcar Named Desire.
It is set in contemporary Sydney on 'The Block' in Redfern.

May 20: Bob has been at Troy Horse Studios co-producing the forthcoming DONNA BOYD album to be launched on July 2nd (see Gig Guide). Recorded 'live' in the studio over two days, the album features a hand-picked line-up of Sydney's best musicians and singers! 5 MAY: I REMEMBER YOU from the new 3-CD compilation FRANK IFIELD - "The Complete A-Sides & B-Sides" has entered the CHi UK/European chart at No. 3. The classic 1962 track was produced by Norrie Paramor and has been enhanced and remixed into stereo by BOB HOWE, Frank's former musical director.

April 16: John Nutting was broadcasting Saturday Night Country from the 702 ABC Sydney studio and Bob Howe was there to co-host the four-hour show.
One of their guests was REBECCA LEE NYE.

Through the Eighties and beyond, Bob toured, recorded and was Musical Director for sixties singing legend, FRANK IFIELD. Bob encouraged Frank to begin writing his autobiography and now at last, I Remember Me - The First 25 years has been published.
Subtitled Frank Ifield Autobiography Volume One it covers the early period, but look for a mention of Bob in the PROLOGUE which can be read HERE via the Authors Online publisher's website. The book can also be purchased through Amazon and other Internet bookstores.

 March 13: Bob has just finished a season of Love That Country Music shows that starred WAYNE HORSBURGH and DONNA BOYD. They are pictured here with GREG HOOPER (keyboards/M.D.) on the left and Bob, far right. Before Wayne returns to the USA (and to tour the UK), Bob is producing an album of island/Hawaiian style songs for him.  March 5: That Saturday, Jim Haynes was filling in for John Nutting and broadcasting Saturday Night Country from the ABC Sydney studio. One of his guests was Telstra Road to Tamworth winner ALEYCE SIMMONDS. Bob was there to accompany Aleyce on acoustic guitar.

Feb 19: That week John Nutting broadcast Saturday Night Country from the ABC Sydney studio and Bob was there to co-host the entire four-hour show.
During the show, one of John's guests was Lex Marinos (pictured left), who is currently featured in the TV show Strictly Dancing and was also promoting the National Horse Festival in Wagga Wagga. Bob and Lex reminisced about the 1992 theatre production of A Slice of Saturday Night directed in Sydney by Lex and which featured Bob in the on-stage band. 2nd Feb 2005: Sad news...the passing of steel guitar legend Jimmie Crawford in Nashville. Bob had the absolute honour and thrill of playing guitar for Jimmy and his fellow steel great, Russ Hicks, during their Australian visit in 1998 as part of the Kitty Wells/Johnny Wright/Bobby Wright Family Show.Pictured right: Russ, Bob and Jimmie onstage in Comet, Queensland, 1998.
During the Tamworth Festival, the Gig Guide was recorded at the ABC New England studio as Saturday Night Country broadcast live from Country Music Capital. During the same show, John Nutting spoke to Bob and bluegrass legend Trev (T-Bird) Warner about guitars, banjos, the weather, The Shadows and more. Jan 2005: While at the Tamworth Festival, Bob performed at a number of shows including Telstra Road to Tamworth, the Tomkins Guitar Showcase, the IGN Records shows at The Alandale with Donna Boyd and he also appeared at a guest industry panelist on the Tamworth Tonight show.
